Could Classic Wedding Cars Soon Be a Thing of the Past?

September 12th, 2012

Classic wedding cars have been a big part of the wedding industry for many years. However, new proposed licensing agreements could soon change that. The Law Commission is currently looking into changing the law that relates to how both funeral and wedding cars are licensed. This would mean big changes for wedding car hire companies throughout the UK.

Classic wedding cars would need to undergo vigorous testing and hire companies would need a license for the cars. The cost of these tests and license could force small hire companies out of business.
Many companies simply won’t be able to afford the new changes. This would make classic cars much harder to get hold of for your special day. It would also push the price up for businesses who do still manage to keep hold of their classic car collection.

There is currently an e-petition running where you can object to these new rules. You can find the petition at www.epitions.direct.gov.uk. Carry out a search for ‘taxi’ and you will find the petition.
FT Wedding Cars has a great selection of classic style cars available from the Beauford Tourer to the Daimler Limousine. Contact us today to book any of our luxury hire vehicles.

Top Tips for Choosing Your Wedding Car

September 5th, 2012

When you are on the lookout for a wedding car, so many factors should be taken into account. Here you will find out the top tips to keep in mind when looking for a suitable car for you.

Make and Model – Do You Know What You Want?

Many people already have a good idea of the type of car that they are looking for. Rolls Royce, Bentley and Daimler are three of the top car manufacturers that people consider when choosing a wedding car hire service. The Daimler limousine in particular is one of the oldest and most requested wedding cars available. If you have a good idea of the make and model of the car you are looking for, it will make your search much easier.

Questions You Need to Ask

The best tip to finding the right wedding car for you is to ask yourself several questions. These include:
• How big is my dress?
• How many people will be travelling with me?
• What time of year am I thinking of booking?
• Do I need any extras?

If you have a big wedding dress then you will need a car which features a spacious interior. The time of year that you are booking will make a huge difference to the cost. Therefore you may need to consider a smaller hire car if you are booking in peak wedding season and you only have a small budget.

Overall finding the right car is easy once you know what you are looking for and what your needs are.

August 17th, 2012

If you are getting married in 2013, it can be a good idea to take a look at what the trends are likely to be. If you like staying on trend then you will need to know what is likely to be popular before you make any arrangements. This is especially true when it comes to limo hire West Midlands.

One of the easiest trends of 2013 to follow is the 1920’s theme. One of the main reasons why people are turning to the 1920’s theme for their weddings is because of films such as ‘The Great Gatsby’ which have recently been released. If you are planning on having this style of wedding then you will need a classic style wedding car. The 1920’s Vintage Convertible would be absolutely perfect. This romantic and beautiful car has all the classic charm that you need to keep in line with this trend.

The colour mint is also going to be popular in 2013. It may not be easy finding a mint coloured wedding car, but you can arrange to have mint coloured decorations. Typically the wedding car hire firm will provide a bow for the car, but you can request a mint coloured theme if you want to. Contact FT Wedding Cars today to discuss your 2013 wedding car needs.

Wedding Cars- Justifying the Cost

July 31st, 2012

Wedding cars do take up a significant part of the wedding budget, especially when you are going for the best the market has to offer. It is not uncommon to question whether the cost of hiring out the limo for the entire day is really justified. When there is so much more you can do with the money, why would you want to spend it all getting a luxury saloon for just one day? Here’s why.

The Convenience – Unlike other kinds of transportation, limousines insist very much on convenience. It’s the reason you get a chauffeur (a smartly dressed chauffeur with a lot of respect to give) all to yourself. Since all arrangements are made in advance, your part is the simple one of sitting back and enjoying the experience.

The Comfort – All luxury cars, both stretch and saloon, are exceptional for their unconventional dimensions. This is rather obvious with the limousines. With the luxury saloons however, the differences are somewhat subtle, though the bigger size of these cars is easily noticeable. The bigger dimensions means more cabin space is provided. Coupled with the air conditioned environment and expensive leather upholstery, the kind of comfort you get is unmatched.

The Sophistication – These kinds of cars always attract (more like steal) the attention whenever they grace an occasion. As far as making first impressions go, you cannot make a stronger one. Then of course there is the awesome wedding photography session with the wedding cars providing an attractive background. So is the cost of hiring a wedding car really justified? Yes, yes it is.

Wedding Car Hiring – How to Guarantee Success

July 26th, 2012

Hiring a wedding car is a step in the wedding plan. It is not a complex procedure, though you do need to dedicate enough time for it. The kind of wedding car you go for will have an impact on your wedding. Ideally you want something that will add a touch of class and uniqueness to your wedding.

When you already know what wedding cars you want to hire, you need to make your reservations. The good thing with bookings is that you don’t get a limit on how soon you can make them. So if you already have a wedding date and are confident in your choice, you can book as early as 1 year in advance. It takes a lot of the pressure off, especially when you get a luxury car that is in demand a lot.

When the date to your wedding approaches, try and get some face-time with the limo. Before this point is discussed, it is well to establish that Finishing Touch cars are maintained at their best- performance-ready and flaw free from the outside in. That said, you have to expect your limo in person. The purpose of doing this is to ascertain that the limo is everything you expected it to be. It installs a sense of confidence, so you are not too surprised when it comes to pick you up.

Get to know the chauffeur you get, and even discuss your expectations a little so that they’ll have an understanding of what you want. Also it helps you when you get everything in writing. Even with this digital thing taking over, the importance of written contracts remains unchanged.

The Importance of Researching Your Wedding Car Firm

July 22nd, 2012

There are many players in the limo hire industry. And while it is a service business, it is a business all the same, so expectations are different. With the assumption being you want to get the best kind of service on your wedding day, the necessity to know the wedding car firm is created. When you do your homework, you get to establish the kind of firm you will be working with, and so you’ll know what to expect.

Try and find out how long the firm has been in business. New companies may have a lot to offer, but their worth is not truly established until they stand the test of time. For any firm that has been in it for over a decade, it’s a show of good servitude. You don’t get repeat business unless your service is better than the rest, right?

Find out how big a fleet of wedding cars is available. A comprehensive fleet is what you should be looking out for. You may not necessarily want all the cars, but it is kind of relieving when you know there are tens of cars to choose from.

Other things to look for include legal compliance (such as insurance), and the history of the firm. It also helps when you get testimonials from customers who have tried out the service before you. Their confidence will be a definite reassurance.

When you know the kind of firm you are working with, you will be able to predict the nature of service you will get.

How many limos do you need?

July 19th, 2012

There are many limo hire firms in existence today. This provides you with a lot of options. It also creates the possibility of you hiring out two or more wedding cars for your event. But should you rush to this because you simply desire to? Like all other decisions in the wedding plan, this one has to be made after some considerations are made.

The first is your budget. Getting one wedding car is somewhat expensive (more so when you are going for the most luxurious cars), so you have to question your ability to meet the costs. Break down your budget, and get to know how much you can spend on the wedding cars. Once you have the average figure, get to know what kinds of limos it can get you, and for how many hours.

If you must absolutely have 2 luxury cars at your event, you have two options. One, you could either get one ultra luxurious car, and a cheaper second one. The Bentley Flying Spur and the Mercedes S Class make a combination that works, and doesn’t dig too deep into your pockets. The second option is getting two cars that are alike. This is possible with the classic cars which are commonly available in pairs.

The other consideration you need to make is with time. It makes more sense to hire out one limo for an extended period of time, rather than have two for a limited period of time. But it all comes down to your personal preferences in the end.

Factors to consider when hiring a wedding car

July 14th, 2012

The process of selecting a wedding car is not necessarily a simple one. The difficult thing is deciding which car is the most suitable for you when so many of them seem to fit the profile. The factors discussed below should guide you on what to look for.

The first is size and space. These two considerations are very important, since they will determine how comfortable you feel. Generally, all luxury cars are built with abundant sitting space. Your elbows and legs will get a lot of area allowing for free movement. So the question of size and space breaks down to whether you want a stretch limousine or a luxury saloon. The most ideal wedding stretch is the Baby Bentley. It provides a lot of cabin space.

You have to consider the availability and the cost of each of the limos you are interested in. You find out by requesting a quote. These two factors might actually decide which cars you get. If you don’t want to find the limo booked, make your bookings as soon as possible. This might even help you with the cost, since you can use that booking period to make interval payments.

Consider the number of extras that you are going to get. For this, you need to have the package detailed out for you. Will you need the bubbly? Do you have some music preferences? Will you need the red carpet? It helps when you understand what extras you have to pay for.

A Touch of Uniqueness

July 10th, 2012

The world today follows a simple rule – that newer is always better. It’s the reason so much excitement is experienced when a new product or invention makes its way into the market. This does not change much when you come to the limo hire industry. The latest models are the ones that are desired the most. They are a big hit in those events where flashy entrances are desired. But if time has taught us anything, it’s that we should not always do away with the old. In the limo hire world, this refers to the vintage collection.

The classics in this collection have the designs that were famous back in the day when the petrol engine was gaining more and more acceptance. They have been maintained over the years to still deliver a superb performance. They have a design that is rare and unadulterated by time. This is perhaps where they derive their greatest appeal. These limos are perfect for when you need something really unique for your event.

There are a lot of wedding cars available too. There’s the Daimler Limousine, which gives you more space than you can completely use up, the 1924 which impresses with its colossal size, the Beauford Tourer which is classy with its retractable roof, and many others. These classics are also cheaper than the modern luxury cars, so if you have a tight budget to think about, you can’t go wrong with any vintage car. They are especially perfect when you are going for a Victorian kind of wedding theme.
