The residential Pheasey area is commonly considered to be a part of the Great Barr. It became a predominantly residential area in the 1930’s, though development didn’t complete until after the Second World War. It is located to the east of Walsall, opposite Sutton Coldfield and Kingstanding.
The Barr Beacon hill separates Pheasey from the rest of Walsall. Interestingly, the Pheasey Evangelical Church was built by volunteers and it was completed in 1962. Although it does largely consist of housing, there are a few nearby places of interest and amenities such as the Holly Wood Nature Reserve and the Wansley Manor Hotel.
